Cranston Democratic City Committee
Sixteen members of the New Cranston Democrats (NCD) ran for seats on the Cranston Democratic City Committee (CDCC) to open up the CDCC to new voices, new energy and ideas, and to make the CDCC a more effective organization.
Eleven of them won their races, while a twelfth candidate’s race ended in a tie—which will be resolved by the Ward 2 committee.
General Election Dates
Election Day: November 3, 2026.
Last day to register to vote: Sunday, October 4. Register to Vote
Deadline to request a mail ballot: October 13. Apply for a mail ballot.
Early Voting Information
All Cranston voters who have not applied for a mail ballot are eligible to vote early at the the Pastore Youth Center at 155 Gansett Ave in Cranston. Photo ID is required.
Early voting starts on Wednesday, October 14 and runs weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm through Monday, November 2 when polls close at 4 pm. and will also be open on Saturday, October 31 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Why Vote Early?
Trump has made clear his intent to sabotage the mid-terms. Trump and his Departments of Justice and Homeland Security have signaled their intent to suppress voting, to interfere with ballot counting, and to attack the results, crying fraud in order to justify blocking the peaceful transfer of power.
The best way to discourage or overcome efforts to interfere with a free and fair election is for voters to vote early and in overwhelming numbers.
While Rhode Island is unlikely to be a specific focus of election interference by the Trump administration, it is important for Americans across the country to frustrate any plans to cause election day chaos by showing up early… and to show up in numbers so massive numbers as to remove all doubt about the legitimacy of the outcome.
